FAQ

General Rental Information

Why do I need to rent an E-Bike anyway? I ride bikes ALL of the time.
The city of Leadville sits at 10,200′ in elevation with many of the trails exceeding 11,000′ in elevation and there is about 30% less oxygen in Leadville than at sea level. This means that your body is working much harder to complete even the simplest of physical tasks. With an electric bike you can work as much or as little as you would like during your ride. We like to call them The Great Equalizers as they allow groups with people of all ages and fitness levels to enjoy our scenery together and have fun while doing so.

What are the rental hours?
E-Bike Leadville operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. You can pick up and return bikes anytime within these hours.

What do I need to rent a bike?
A valid driver’s license or ID is required for all rentals. You must be at least 14 years old to rent an electric bike.

Can I reserve a bike in advance?
Yes, we strongly recommend making reservations ahead of time, especially during peak seasons. You can book your bike directly through our website on the Reservations page.

What should I bring?
You should wear comfortable clothing and bring a rain jacket for common afternoon storms. Helmets are provided and required to leave our premises.

What if it rains?
At 10,200 feet, the weather can be very unpredictable. Afternoon showers are VERY common in the summer, but usually pass quickly. To avoid showers, plan your ride early.

If it is raining at the beginning of your ride, you will need to plan on going unless we have extreme weather, in which case you will receive a refund. Refunds are offered if cancellations are made 24 hours in advance.
