E-Bike Rules & Etiqette
-
Do not trespass. Do not enter places guarded with a gate or signage.
-
Changing weather, terrain, and long stretches of road without access to a restroom, water, or food can negatively impact your ride. If you are going on a longer ride be sure to bring a backpack with all of your needs for the day. If you have concerns or questions, give us a call and talk with one of our experts. Helmets are required by E-bike Leadville before our bikes leave the premises. Helmets are provided with each rental.
-
Other cyclists, cars, and pedestrians will be present on most of the recommended roads and trails. Make sure to leave room for the people on the left of you and for pedestrians walking. Make sure if you are going to pass pedestrians or bikers to check around you for other bikers and pass on the left and then return to the right. If you are going to pass pedestrians or bikers make sure to warn them that you are passing on their left. While passing, be aware that you are under power and others are not. Do not laugh, make noises, or yell at individuals using a traditional bike – they are working a lot harder than you are! While you are riding, remember to ride single file as far to the right of the road as you can. Be mindful of traffic and alert the members of your group of a car approaching from behind. Helmets are required by E-bike Leadville before our bikes leave the premises. Helmets are provided with each rental.
-
Stay on designated routes and roads at ALL times so as to not disturb the natural beauty of Leadville and surrounding areas.
-
Wildlife is wild! Please do not bother wildlife if you see them on trails, especially elk or moose. They are wild and can hurt you if you come too close. This is especially relevant with animals with young or when rutting season is happening in the fall. Don’t get close to wildlife or feed them.
Need to Know:
- Make sure to book your rentals online as soon as you can. Feel free to call with any questions you have about booking. We can suggest which bikes would be best for a good ride for you.
- If it has been awhile since you have ridden a bicycle please take some time to refresh your skills before you take off on a ride on an e-bike. If you are going to be in town for a few days, you might want to think about coming by to try one out on a short ride.
- If you have children who are interested in riding with you they must demonstrate competency in riding a bike. These bikes are heavy, adult sized bikes and if they don’t currently ride bikes, an e-bike is not the way to introduce them to the world of cycling.
- We do have a child seat available for rent and a Tag-A-Long Bike which attaches to the parent’s bike.
- Please be sure to wear closed toed shoes for a better riding experience.
- Afternoon showers are common during the summer season. Early rides are recommended.
- Have fun!!!
